+ | As you can see in the photo above, the scapes are dark all the way down. Exposure to the sun seems necessary for the darkness to develop. The darkness in all my dark-scaped varieties declines as the blooming season progresses in my garden. I'm not sure yet why: it might be increasing dryness, it might be increasing temperature, or who knows what else. But I knew this one would be an introduction from the moment the first six inches of the first scape showed. That it was also melon and had great branching, budcount and branch length was a huge bonus. | ||
